Hey y’all,

Herman just stopping by to check in and let y’all know about some of our fun upcoming events! But first and foremost I want to say thank you to everyone who came out for our weekly keg tappings during April-you guys are awesome! I loved seeing everyone and especially enjoyed tasting eight different NC Beers; I have to say our brewers here in NC definitely know how to make a great tasting brew. If you weren’t able to make it out last month no worries we’re coming into May and will continue tapping beers every Wednesday at 7 pm starting this Wednesday the 1st with Ballast Point Dorado. Also, don’t forget about Trivia, Trashy Trivia and Karaoke on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s. It’s been so much fun watching everyone get crazy in here during those nights and I really can’t wait for it to get even warmer so I can watch as people sit outside and have a grand time. Oh before I forget, First Friday is coming up and not only will we have a band outside but also Russ Thompson will be serenading us beginning around 5:30 pm and My Cousin Skinny will be performing at 10 pm. Both are great performers and I would very much like to see you and dance. Well that’s all from me this week. I’ve been trying to rest up for First Friday and to prepare for Artsplosure in a couple of weeks. Until I see ya again your secrets are safe with me!

BeerFest and Other Happenings

Hey y’all,

Just checking in to say hey and to tell everyone what a great time I had last weekend at First Friday and during the weekend. Let’s see we had Russ Thompson, one of my personal favorites serenading us during the beginning of the evening and then the Windsor Oaks band rocked the house during late night. Whew, all those boys know how to get the ladies dancing, I would say it was the alcohol doing it but everyone knows the Woody’s ladies love a man who can play an instrument and sing. When I sing they just scurry away, this deep moose voice isn’t all that it used to be back in oh Canada. But with all the excitement inside, there was just as much going on outside. From my post I saw some crazy dance off’s to the M80’s jams and everyone sitting outside seemed to be having a grand time enjoying the beautiful spring weather. But all the fun didn’t end on Friday, I was happy to watch basketball all night Saturday, I must admit I was very happy the games were late Saturday so I could have time to recover from Friday night, but who would have thought that match up would have happened!? Although, I did pick Louisville to be in the championship, thank goodness I wasn’t too black out when filling out my bracket, like I said in an earlier post for a while I couldn’t remember what I was thinking with all the upsets that happened. But even though Louisville won Michigan played amazingly and I even I found myself yelling “GO BLUE” a few times. However, basketball is now over and while I am sad I am excited about baseball, being able to devout my full attention to the fans that we have come in to watch the games with me throughout the course of the day. We have so many Phillies, Braves, Mets, Pirates, Yankees, Cardinals, and Nationals fans I have to be glued to all the T.V.’s throughout the season so I can talk when y’all stop by to see me. I don’t want to say who my team is, which is why I now sport an Atlantic Beach ball cap, I wouldn’t want one of y’all to think I was bias against your team, that would be horrible and you may not stop by and see me for one of our many upcoming events. So don’t forget upcoming this week we have our weekly keg tapping Wednesday the 10th at 7pm for NC Beer Month, we’re hosting two local’s that we love Aviator and Big Boss. Aviator will be featuring their High Voltage brew, a pale ale, and Big Boss is showcasing The Countess, a fruit beer that is perfect for the season. Thursday as always we’ll have Big Slow Tom’s trivia at 7pm and Krazy Karaoke at 11pm. Friday and Saturday we’ll have live music starting at 10pm, Adam Pitts rocking the house on Friday and Acoustic Manner making the crowd move on Saturday. Also, Saturday is the World of Beer Beerfest, although it’s held in Moore’s Square we’ll have a beer tent set up outside for you stop by and have another the Aviator High Voltage and another rotating keg throughout the day. With all the fun happenings coming up I sure hope you’ll stop by and see me, I promise as always all your secrets are safe with me!

Stop by and see me!

Hey y’all

Herman here, just checking in to see how everyone is doing after surviving St. Patrick’s Day! Whew, like I said in my last post it sure was fun to see everyone out and about that weekend and to hear the sweet, sweet sound of the bagpipes. But I must admit I’m sure glad it’s over.  After all the excitement of the weekend I happily filled out my NCAA bracket and I must say I hope I was drunker than I remember being when I filled it out! With all the upsets that have happened I have no idea who’s going to be declared the tournament winner this year. I mean Florida Gulf Coast Is definitely giving everyone a run for their money…literally. Hopefully, someone will be the grand winner of our $250 gift certificate. With March coming to an end I guess I should tell you about some of the exciting events we have coming up in April. You see, April is North Carolina Beer Month and to honor this we will be tapping a number of North Carolina brews throughout the course of the month, mainly during our weekly keg tapping’s, held on Wednesday nights at 7pm. The first one will be held on April 3rd, when we will be tapping Highland Cold Mountain and Green Man IPA, both of which are delicious brews made in the western part of this great state. The 5th is First Friday so don’t hesitate to stop in and enjoy the sounds of Russ Thompson during Happy Hour and the Windsor Oaks band beginning at 10pm. The M80’s an 80’s cover band will be performing out on the cobblestone that evening around 7pm as well, so you can always stop by and see one of the lovely ladies running our beer tent before you venture inside. Moreover, the NCAA finals are that weekend, the 6th-8th so if you can’t make it earlier in the week definitely stop by to watch the games! Well that’s pretty much it for the next week or so, so I definitely hope to see ya sometime soon. Until next time all your secrets are safe with me, and oh I almost forgot- have a Happy Easter!

I survived St. Patrick’s Day @ Woody’s

in Uncategorized

Hey y’all,

Just letting you know that I survived the Irish madness last weekend and hope y’all found yourselves safe! With the ACC tournament last week I had soooooo much fun watching all the games. I’m definitely proud of the Pack for making it as far as they did; the Heels surprised me the most showing that they are a relatively good team-sorry still bitter over their last win over the Pack, and Duke, well I guess they were just resting up for the big NCAA tournament. But even with all the excitement of the games happening, it couldn’t top the High Holiday, that’s right St. Patrick’s Day. With the parade on Saturday it was fun to see everyone out and about in their finest of green. I loved looking out into the crowd and seeing crazy Guinness hats, flashing earrings, green pants, leprechaun eyebrows, and shamrock stickers everywhere. For a little while I almost wished I was Irish instead of Canadian, but then I remembered how awesome I am at hockey and how my poor liver would never survive, the Irish truly are gifted drinkers! It was like watching a marathon but instead of running everyone was downing pints and shots. Oh I almost forgot my favorite part of the entire weekend was seeing the Wake District Pipes and Drums perform both Saturday and Sunday. Did they ever know how to get a crowd started, and I have seen my fair share of performers on the Woody’s stage. Some of the ladies even jumped on stage with them and started doing one of my favorite moves…THE MOOSE!  It was absolutely amazing! But unfortunately, the weekend is over but that doesn’t mean this weekend won’t be as much fun. With the NCAA going on we’ll have plenty of games to watch, with all the boys from the triangle playing Friday. I can’t wait to cheer them on and see how far my beloved Pack goes, hopefully further than any Ram or Blue Devil. In addition to the games, there’s a Lonerider event going on in Moore Square Saturday night from 5-11 pm. It should be exciting as we plan to have a number of new delicious brews for everyone to try out while hanging out around the Square. Also, Wednesday we’ll have our weekly keg tapping at 7pm where we’ll be featuring  Ballast Point’s Longfin Lager for only $3.5, it truly is a deal. With all that is going on I hope everyone has recovered from the past crazy weekend and will stop by and see me this weekend sometime for more grand times. Until I see y’all again, all your secrets are safe with me.
